ヅンギスカソは、ジンギスカンではない。
しかし、誰かはジンギスカンを思うかもしれない。
何度も食べていたらきっとそれはジンギスカンになる。
でも私は愛知県名古屋市で 18 年間過ごしてきた。
私の日常にジンギスカンはいなかった。
そのはずなのに、 大した数食べたこともないのに歌いたくなるし、
大して好みということでもないのに無性に食べたいと思うし、
大して見たこともないのに身近な気がする。
それがジンギスカンである。
子どもの頃、とりあえずジンギスカンって言いたかった。
ジンギスカンって不思議な存在だ。
ヅンギスカソはジンギスカンではないが、 たぶんジンギスカンかもしれない。
でも私がここに置くのは、紛れもなくヅンギスカソである。
ヅンギスカソは、ジンギスカンではない。
しかし確実にジンギスカンがいるし、
同時にここにジンギスカンはいないはずでもある。
ここには、ヅンギスカソだけがある。
Zunghis Khaso is not “Genghis Khan.”
Yet, someone might still find themselves thinking of Jingisukan.
If you ate it over and over again, it would surely become Jingisukan to you.
But I spent 18 years living in Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture.
Jingisukan was never a part of my daily life.
Despite that—even though I have barely ever eaten it—I inexplicably find myself wanting to sing the word “Genghis Khan.”
Even though it is not even a particular favorite of mine, I get an intense, sudden craving for it.
Even though I have rarely ever seen it, it somehow feels familiar.
That is what Jingisukan is to me.
When I was a child, for some reason, I just loved to say the word “Genghis Khan.”
Genghis Khan is such a strange entity.
Zunghis Khaso is not Genghis Khan, but perhaps, it might just be Jingisukan.
However, what I am placing right here is, without a doubt, Zunghis Khaso.
Zunghis Khaso is not Genghis Khan.
Yet, the presence of Genghis Khan is undeniably there,
while at the same time, Jingisukan should not be here at all.
Right here, only Zunghis Khaso exists.
